I have severe pain in the left side around my ovary and it was going around to my back I had it for a week the pain went away for a day but I felt tired and weak then the pain in the ovary came back but isn't constant what could be ? I thought kidney infection or UTI but I am taking cranberry pills and drinking lots of water and it isn't helping.

I have pain in my left side around my ovary what is it ?
Abdominal pain that is similar to that of period cramping may indicate a problem in a reproductive organ (like pain around your ovaries).

This includes conditions such as endometriosis (when tissue from the uterus is displaced to somewhere else like the pelvic wall or ovaries), uterine fibroids (thick bands of muscular and fibrous tissue in the uterus), ovarian cysts, ovarian cancer (rare), or pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) infection of the reproductive organs which is usually caused by a sexually transmitted disease.

If you have pain in your ovary area, you might have an ovarian cyst. I have experienced that same type of pain whenever I have had an ovarian cyst.

Based on your symptoms and what you wrote, I would recommend that you should see your doctor/gynaecologist, just to rule out any serious causes.

Good luck :)
Reply:Just to let you know-only antibiotics get rid of kidney infection and UTI's so if you do think its one of those see a doctor. If its around the 14th day after your period it could be your body releasing the egg-sometimes very painful. Go see a doctor if it gets worse or continues.
Reply:Could be ovarian cyst, or Endo metriosis. Both very common and not life threatening, but you should see your doctor and keep track of when the pain takes place during your menstrual cycle.
Reply:This could be a warning sign with the ovary. Rule if noy better in 5 days make appointment
