When you have a polycystic ovary is it true that you will have a difficulty in having a baby?

Yes, because most of the time you wont ovulate. Also miscarrages happen more often with women that have it. You can still have kids, but sometimes it can be difficult, but then again it you may have no problems.

When you have a polycystic ovary is it true that you will have a difficulty in having a baby?
My daughter at the age of 16 had cystic on both of her ovaries, so she was put on birth control pills for 2 years to dissolve them. Before the birth control pills she was cramping and was hurting allot. The birth control pills dissolved them and she was taken off of them. My daughter will be 26 next month and will be having my third grandchild. So, you might be like my daughter and have no difficulty in having a baby, but do check with a doctor on any gynecologist problem.
Reply:I had polycyctic ovaries. I dont menstruate for months. I am worried abt the same problem as yours... The cysts can turn pretty nasty - into fiberoids which could result in removal of ovaries - hysterectomy. Let me know if you find out some more information abt this.
Reply:No,not necessarily. You have two ovaries which both produce eggs.

This is a question that only a gynecologist/obstetrician can really answer knowledgeably and to your satisfaction though.
Reply:Yes it can cause problems. My wife had this same problem she had Lazar surgery after 5 years of marriage and trying to get pregnant, with no luck, but let me finish we gave up and talked about adoption it didn't work out ether so we figured we wasn't to have children.Well guess what happened..... Yep, after twelve years my wife says she thought she was with child, and took an ept which said + I didn't trust it I said I'll believe it if the bunny dies, it did .Then 5 years later she said she felt the same way again the bunny died again. Now we have two wonderful boys!!!! So what ever happens don't give up hope, anything can happen!! Good luck and God bless.
Reply:It is a good possibility. You should have your GYN evaluate you. With all the advances in medicine it is rarely ever impossible. It may be very hard though.
Reply:hi having polycystic ovaries and having a baby is not a prob unless u r slim if u r fat reduce ur weight which may help u in giving birth it is caused due to over consumption of fat and also due to thickening of the ovary walls so go to a gynaec. for treatment as soon as possible all the best for a gud result and one more thing u must eat lot of vegetables and truly saying a lot of citrus fruits
