I had my left ovary and a cyst removed, will i catch easy?

I had my left ovary and a cyst removed 2 years ago, i have also had bad smears but the last one came back ok (thank god, it kills when you have a loop!) Do you think i'll catch easy? We're lookin at startin a family in Sept' this year. Anyone else had a baby with one ovary?

well no but i was diagnosed with polycystic ovaries in nov 2003,i was told i had a 3% chance of falling pregnant which crushed me,


i so wanted a baby and by march 2004 i was pregnant,it just happened naturally,i couldn't believe it happened so fast let alone happened at all,so i say anything can happen if you want it bad enough,i think it's possible with one ovary.


i also think the secret to falling pregnant is spontaneous sex,no planning,no tension,no sex on a certain day or at a certain time,just relaxed fun sex.


i believe thats how my daughter was conceived,


because i had stopped planning her and put the whole pregnancy thing out of my head.

Reply:yes there are alot of woman i know that conceived more than once and had healthy kids when they only had one ovary or with just one fallopian tube.

Do you mean, will you get pregnant easily?


If the answer is yes, then you may or may not have trouble getting pregnant. My sister-in-law had only one ovary, and she had two children (less than 2 years apart!). I can't say what your body will do. Hopefully, you won't have any trouble.
Reply:Many women have had children with only one ovary, don't lose hope. It may take a little longer, but as long as you're healthy and have no other problems, only having one ovary won't stop you.





You really should discuss this with your doctor though. He/she is much better equipped to answer any questions you may have.

Reply:honey, ive had 4 kids with one ovary when i was 16 i had my right ovay removed from a cyst that was the size of a grapefriut and i was worried but, i have 4 beautifu kids realx u should be fine
Reply:My mom had one of her tubes and ovaries removed when she was actually pregnant with my sister (3 mos. pregnant) and didn't cause her to become infertile. She had me and my brother several years later. :)





Also, I had a LEEP conization and was terrified when I became pregnant. I thought my cervix would be too weak to hold the weight of a baby, but I've carried two babies to term, and never had any problems with that.
Reply:My wife has only part of ther right ovary. She used the pill since she was twelve(for her endometriosis). Lost her left ovary and part of her right. Used Lupron treatment and the depo-shot. Dr said she had to undergo fertility treatment to have her babies.


Well, she was pregnant without the treatment and after only 4 months of leaving the depo-shot.


So don't worry, you could be surprised! Think positive and enjoy!
Reply:I think when you've only got one ovary it means you only ovulate every other month. It might be a little more difficult for you to get pregnant because of this. Check with your doctor and see if there are any ways you can figure out when you're ovulating, and you can try during these times. Might make your chances better. Good luck.
Reply:If the one ovary you have is healthy, then there would be little if any reduction in the likelihood of your becoming pregnant. In women who have two ovaries, the ovaries generally take turns producing an egg. If you only have one ovary and it is healthy, then it will take over for the missing ovary and produce an egg each month.
Reply:I know alot of people who have had babies with one ovary. Just dont get discouraged! Remember you have to work up to twice as hard as everyone else lol. But seriously it happens all the time. Try one of those electronic things that tracks your cycle so you know what days are best for you to try having a baby! Good Luck to ya!!!!
