Is there a chance for a woman with PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) to get pregnant?
A friend of mine, my neighbor actually has PCOS and was told she potentally would never get pregnant but guess what...she still has PCOS and she has a 5yr old and is about 4 mths preggo!
Reply:Yes, there's a chance. Many women with PCOS have.

There are medications an Endocrinologist can give her to make her fertile.
Reply:tell your friend she is not alone. I have PCOS as well. I was told by my doctor that conceiving is possible but unlikely. BUT they do have meds you can take to become more fertile and there is hope.
Reply:YES

I have both those conditions and I have a wonderful son. Losing weight helped but I will forever believe that putting my faith and fertility in God's hands is what made the biggest difference for me.

Tell her to take her meds, try to lose weight, go low carb helps and prayer. It works. I know cause it did for me.
Reply:Yes she can find help. Step one would be to find out if she truly has PCOS. Many women with PCOS are actually misdiagnosed and they have something called Celiac Disease, an autoimmune disease that causes many symtpoms--one of whcih being cysts on the ovaries, problems with fertiliyt and the cycles. And also thyroid problems are common. The treatment is simple, get diagnosed with Celiac, start the gluten free diet,s tayo n it for life and you're good to go.

Many women who have PCOS and do not have Celiac, still find the Gluten Free diet helps with regularity of cycles and thus, helps them get pregnant. If the medicine isnt helping then its likely she doesnt actually have PCOS but something else causing the symptoms, such as Celiac.

Reply:Most women with PCOS can benefit from losing weight. Even losing 10 lb may help get your hormones in balance and regulate your menstrual cycle.

To control symptoms and lower disease risks, your doctor may prescribe medicines, such as birth control pills or other medicines that can help with symptoms or help you get pregnant.

So yes you can get pregnant, you will prob need fetility drugs to do so and make sure your body is in tip top shape!
Reply:Yes, my best friend and her mother both have PCOS and they have both had one child. It makes it harder to get pregnant, but it is possible.
