I asked a question a minute ago and someone said it sounded like symptons to that....What are the symptoms how can you tell?
What are the symptoms of a left ovary infarction?
If you're typing questions, I highly doubt you have an infarction in your ovary. You would have a serious, sudden onset of pain and not be able to function. This is a total blockage of blood to a whole organ, causing it to die and no longer function. You would know if you had this....it happens all of a sudden like a heart attack-a myocardial infarction.
You could have ovarian cysts or many other things..it could even be mittleshmirtz-pain from ovulation. I haven't read your previous question. Go to the doctor if it keeps bothering you.
You have to be careful about how seriously you take answers on here-there aren't many doctors answering %26amp; sometimes ppl hear about 1 condition %26amp; think they see it all over the place.
Reply:First of all, I highly doubt it is an ovary infarction. You would have SEVERE, sudden onset of pain in your left pelvic region. As far as your periods being irregular, I am 25 years old and mine have always been very irregular. I would go for months without a period and then have one that would last 3 weeks. This went on for years. The only time they have been regular was when I have been on the pill. I don't think it is anything to worry about but if you are concerned you can talk to your gynecologist and maybe start the pill.
To answer your follow up question, an ovary infarction occurs when you lose effective blood flow to the ovary. If not fixed immediately it can cause the ovary to die. But like I said previously, if that was what was going on you would be in so much pain that you would not be sitting in front of your computer. You would not be able to tolerate it.
