learn more at www.medlineplus.gov you could have hormonal issues due to the loss of an ovary. ask a dr.,
What are the side effects of having 1 ovary surgically removed?
The biggest side effect I can think of is you would only have the chance to conceive a baby every other month, as the ovaries take turns releasing eggs.
Reply:less chance of having kids, and I think it would hurt for awhile.
Reply:None. I had it done years ago. It supposedly cuts your chances of having kids in half...but I had two children. There was no pain after the surgery week.
Reply:You might have some symptoms of menopause until your other ovary realizes it's working on it's on and go into over drive. It will soon pick up and do all the work on it's on without side effects.
It shouldn't prevent you have having children or anything lik that.
Good Luck!
Reply:It has been shown to reduce your chances by about 30% as the other ovary compensates.
