I had a hysterectomy in 04 but they left my ovaries and fal. tubes and i have a lump on my right ovary. help?
As one who has had a hyst, my MD also left and ovary in for hormones. However, 2 yrs later it had to be removed because of fibroid tumors that were really causing a lot of pain. I don't blame you in the least for being scared. My family has the same history. I had breast cancer one yr ago and a mastectomy. My sister had 4th stage ovarian cancer. Thanks to the wonderful doctors at Dana Farber, Chemo too, she is now completely clear of cancer. Yes, I would voice my concerns to your MD. I did when I found out I had cancer and I told him to please just take off my breast. It turns out, it was a good thing because the test came back as fast spreading cancer. So Please, speak with your doctor. Put you mind at ease. You are in my prayers for good health.
Reply:I have also had the same thing. If you think there is a cyst on one of the ovaries the only thing to do is see your physician. Get a ultra sound and a definitive diagnosis. I had a very large cyst removed from my ovary during my hysterectomy so having more is a possibility; that is why regular visits is imperative.
Reply:What's to ask? The lump may or may not be anything, but there's no way anyone can give you any help here. It would merely be speculation. For goodness sake, see a doctor.
