I have an cyst on my left ovary that is about 5 centimeters.?

Does anyone know if its okay to exercise with a cyst or will exercise aggravate it? Do I need to wait until it has gotten better? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You can feel free to exercise, but I would stay away from anything too strenuous to prevent it from rupturing.





Do light exercises like yoga or pilates, or you could just walk on a treadmill for 30-45 minutes.
Reply:I had one about the size of an orange that burst, and it hurt like heck! My doc told me to take it easy for a couple of days while it healed. Since you know the size of your cyst, I assume you have seen your doc and he/she should have explained to you that typically the cyst will shrink or be reduced in size depending on where you are at in your cycle. Usually cysts are harmless and go away on their own. I was told to continue life as usual, which includes intense exercise 5-6 days/week - there's nothing you can do to make it go away. So go exercise, and just be aware of classic symptoms of a burst cyst: abdominal pain, and/ or back pain, and/or pressure in abdomen. The pain is intense, you'll know if it burst.
