I had a ovarian cyst removed and they took the ovary 4 weeks ago please read on?

The surgeon said if I had keyhole recovery would be 2 weeks and open surgery would be 4 weeks. I had this done by keyhole and although I feel fine most of the time sometimes I will get a twinge when I sneeze for example. I received a letter this morning advising me that the cyst wasn't cancerous. When should the twinges stop? Also has it effected my chances of conceiving in the future? will I have a period every month or every 2?

The twinges are because you are healing internally, they should begin to improve soon and certainly after 6 weeks. Your chances of conceiving are reduced but it certainly is not impossible for you to conceive - it only takes one egg and one sperm to make a baby!! As for your periods, they will still come each month and should not be affected.

Good luck, hope you feel better soon and pleased for you that the cyst wasn't cancerous

Reply:i believe you'll still have a period every month but will probably go into menopause earlier - ovary that's left goes into overdrive. ring your doc n ask about the twinges. doesn't sound worrying tho - i mean it was surgery. stuff inside got cut n stitched. having twinges after two weeks sounds ok. don't think it effects fertility cept for the earlier menopause. ask a doc!
Reply:Call you doctor back they will answer your questions and you will be sure to get facts from the dr.

Good luck
Reply:cant really say about concieving wouldnt of thought it would make a difference but as for twinges i has keyhole nearly a year ago for difference reasons to urs but i still get twinhes from time to time and 2 weeks seems really fast anyway they told me 6-8 weeks
