Ovaries produce estrogen which is important for the development and maintenance of secondary sex characteristics during and after puberty. It plays a role in fat deposition and distribution. It is also thought to play a protective role in the development/progression of vascular disease.
How does the ovary work with different organ systems to keep the body healthy?
I think you are a little confused.
The ovary is in fact 2 ovaries and only women have them. They contain the eggs that are 1/2 of the reproductive process of humans. They aren't designed to keep the body healthy, but to make babies.
