I was just diagnosed with a dermoid cyst on one of my ovaries. The doctor has said the cyst is large enough that he is going to have to remove the ovary with the cyst. What are the side effects to my hormones with only one ovary?
What happens to my hormones with only one ovary?
the one ovary will produce all the hormones you need.
Reply:The one ovary will take over for the other, so you the ovary left will ovulate all the time instead of taking turns. I had one ovary removed 22 years ago and have had no problem. You won't notice any difference.
Reply:ur other ovary will produce eggs the same way but more as it compensate for the lacking one......u can still have kids with one ovary...
Reply:Probably not much. One is sufficient to provide the necessary normones, as well as eggs if you want to have children.
