Does one have to have ovary removed if a septated cyst is IN the ovary and not on the ovary?

I have a cyst a little over 1 cm in my left ovary. It is causing a great deal of pain. It was found to be a septated cyst, which I don't know what that means. Currently we are waiting to see if it shrinks with a new birth control pill. However, if the cyst is IN the ovary as opposed to On the ovary, will I have to have the whole ovary removed?

If it's in the ovary it will most likely have to be removed, and you may lose the ovary. Hopefully it will shrink though.
Reply:I would ask a gynecologist for advice on that. There are some medications that help shrink cysts but not for sure about yours. If it is painful you need to have something done.
